Why Become a Member?

MCC is your opportunity, whether contractor, designer, supplier or student, to focus on the current issues dealing with cast-in-place concrete. In today’s competitive marketplace, it is important to make the correct decisions regarding materials, systems and construction practices needed to fulfill rigid design requirements. Members work together using their talents to shape and strengthen the organization for the future.

High priority is placed on continuing education and solving technical issues. Monthly meetings consist of timely technical and professional topics from known experts brought in from all over the U.S. MCC recognizes your time must be well-spent in terms of timely information, leading edge technology, and formalization of continuing education. Based on this rationale, MCC finds justification for the ever-increasing costs associated with a global approach to learning/education. Some of MCC’s annual services to the cast-in-place concrete industry include the following:

  • Sponsors monthly educational breakfast meetings for members and guests, with Professional Development Hours available at many meetings.
  • Sponsors an Annual Seminar with guest speakers from around the country brought in to share their experiences, research, state-of-the-art construction practices, etc.
  • Publishes a quarterly newsletter, with a distribution of over 1,000 companies and individuals.
  • Produces an ever-growing library of presentations aimed at educating people about the uses for and benefits of cast-in-place concrete.
  • Actively participates with other concrete and aggregate-related organizations (ARM, ACI, MCMA, CPAM) in educational events.
  • Sponsors research programs – the three current research programs involve optimum durability study.
  • Sponsors a yearly golf outing for members to bring their clients, co-workers or employees.
  • Co-sponsors university professors to the PCA Professors’ Seminar, which provides civil engineering educators with in-depth information useful in preparing undergraduate- and graduate-level courses.
  • Co-sponsors the University of Minnesota’s Concrete Canoe Team.
